Glee Season 2

Glee Season 2 Episode 4: Duets hand us oodles of excitement and competitions. The episode started with Glee Club director Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) telling the news about what happen to Puck (Mark Salling) who has been sent to juvenile detention for robbing a convenience store he also introduced the new member of the club, Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet). Due to what happen, Will sets New Directions a duet assignment, offering a free meal courtesy by him at Breadstix for the winning duo. Everyone’s are excited after hearing the “Breadstix” place. As the pairing started, Kurt (Chris Colfer) suspects that Sam is gay and asks him to be his duet partner. Sam agreed on Kurt proposal but Finn and Rachel are not comfortable with it so Finn (Cory Monteith) talks them out of partnering up, fearing that Sam will be subject to bullying for having a male partner. On the other hand, the relationship of Santana (Naya Rivera) and Brittany (Heather Morris) was lay on the line after Santana refused the idea of Brittany that they should sing Melissa Etheridge’s “Come to My Window”. I don’t know if everyone was aware on what is happening between Santana and Brittany but one thing is clear to me, there is a silent war between the two.

Meanwhile the first pair sings in-line is Mercedes and Santana who thinks that she will have a chance of winning if she and Mercedes will go hand-in-hand. Regarding Kurt teaming-up with Sam, well it was cancelled after Kurt talk to his dad realizing that his perception was wrong. Kurt sings alone “Le Jazz Hot!” from Victor/Victoria enthusing himself as the best singer in the club. I don’t know if he’s serious about what his talking but everyone’s was impressed on his elegant show. Meanwhile attempting to make Santana get jealous, Brittany pairs up with Artie (Kevin McHale) who rejects his ex-girlfriend Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) when she asks him to duet with her. In the end Brittany finds herself partnering Sam and winning the free dinner price after Rachel and Finn manipulated the situation. Kurt was disappointed on what happen but with the help of Rachel who said how much they value him, he manage to accept his lose; the two sings mash-up of “Happy Days Are Here Again” and “Get Happy” in front of the rest of New Directions as Glee Season 2 Episode 4: Duets finale.

The fourth episode of Glee season 2 tickle my mind especially when Rachel and Finn dress like a nun and priest for their schemes. Their plan works at last and that is letting Sam win the competition to boost club morale and to change her self-centered image since Rachel thinks he will be a big help for them to win the nationals. About the free ticket, Sam and Brittany didn’t use it since Brittany said to Sam that a gentleman should pay the bill, and that’s what happened folk’s!
